ChainCatcher news: AI research lab NeoCognition announced the completion of a $40 million seed round, jointly led by Cambium Capital and Walden Catalyst Ventures, with participation from Vista Equity Partners. Angel investors include Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, Databricks co-founder Ion Stoica, and others.

The company is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and was co-founded by Yu Su, an associate professor at Ohio State University, together with Xiang Deng and Yu Gu. The company focuses on improving the reliability of AI agents. Its approach is to have agents build domain “world models” during real-world usage to adapt to specific business environments, rather than relying on general pre-trained models. The company is currently targeting enterprise clients and plans to embed sustainably optimized AI agents into SaaS products, but it has not yet released a public product.
