I used to really think that "on-chain data = real-time," and when I saw someone say a certain address just bought something, I would follow suit. But when I checked, nothing had actually happened, and I thought I was targeted...

Later I realized that what I was seeing was actually "relayed" from nodes/RPC/indexers. If someone’s synchronization is a bit slow or their indexing queues up, your "on-chain perspective" will be delayed by a few minutes or even longer. To put it simply, it's not that the chain isn't real; it's that the window you're using has latency.

Recently, everyone has been comparing RWA, US bond yields, and on-chain yield products. I also get tempted to jump in, but now I at least make sure to verify the data sources first, so I don’t get eaten by a single candlestick + a lagging RPC... That’s all for now; I’m still on my journey of self-improvement.
