The general business climate indicator for manufacturing in Poland rose to -4.4 in April 2026 from a three-month low of -5.2 in March. Still, the latest reading remained below its long-term average of +0.4. Most companies expected prices for services or raw materials to increase at a faster pace in the near term (40.5), citing energy prices as the main factor likely to drive operating costs higher amid the war in the Middle East. Among other sectors, the financial and insurance activities section (29.3 vs 26.8 in March) had the most positive assessment of business conditions, followed by accommodation and food service activities (10.2 vs 3.7). However, the most pessimistic assessment were reported by entities operating in the transportation and storage sector (-5.6 vs -3.4).
