The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently announced the recall of nearly 90k bottles of children’s ibuprofen medication distributed nationwide, due to consumer complaints of foreign objects in the liquid. According to the recall report issued by the FDA, this batch of medication was manufactured in India by the international pharmaceutical company Progress Pharmaceuticals, headquartered in Bangalore, India. The brand is “Tarro Pharmaceuticals Children’s Ibuprofen Oral Suspension,” with a specification of 100 milligrams of ibuprofen active ingredient per 5 milliliters, and a bottle capacity of 120 milliliters. The recall involves a total of 89,592 bottles, with an expiration date of January 31, 2027. The report states that the reason for the recall is consumer complaints of foreign objects such as “gel-like substances” and “black particles” in the liquid. (Cailian Press)
