Polysilicon Industry Branch: It is expected that domestic polysilicon production in April will be revised upward to around 92,000 tons.
As of this week, there are still 10 domestically operating polysilicon companies. The maintenance period for major first-tier manufacturers originally scheduled for April has been slightly delayed, and its output impact will be reflected in May. According to each company’s production plan, it is expected that domestic polysilicon output in April will be raised to about 92,000 tons, while downstream demand in the same period is about 73,000 tons, resulting in a monthly inventory build of nearly 20,000 tons. This shows that even though the current industry operating rate has fallen to 39%, inventories are still continuously accumulating, and the pressure of market supply exceeding demand remains severe. Overall, the improvement in market sentiment this week mainly comes from news developments and the futures market, representing an improvement in sentiment and expectations rather than a fundamental turnaround in underlying supply-and-demand fundamentals. The industry is still undergoing a difficult process of destocking and reshaping its market structure. (Silicon Industry Branch)
