A bulk carrier enters the Persian Gulf in traceable status.

According to a report by the UK’s Lloyd’s List on the 20th, a Greek bulk carrier with an automatic identification system (AIS) activated is passing through the Strait of Hormuz into the Persian Gulf. This will be the first vessel to transit the Strait of Hormuz into the Persian Gulf under trackable conditions since March 2nd. The report states that the vessel, named “Jacometti,” is flying the Liberian flag and is owned by a Greek bulk shipping company. AIS shows that it is carrying “food cargo bound for Iran.” The report said that on the 20th local time, the bulk carrier bypassed Larak Island, following a route similar to the “safe corridor” designated by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. It is reported that at least nine other ships are using the same route, approaching the Iranian coast and bypassing Larak Island, with the Revolutionary Guard Corps visually confirming the ships passing through the strait using the island.
