Russia claims Ukrainian forces attacked Black Sea port causing oil spill
Russian Krasnodar Krai Action Command reported on the 20th that satellite images show oil slicks appearing about 1.5 nautical miles from Tuapuxie Port along the Black Sea coast.
This was caused by a Ukrainian drone attack in the early hours of the 16th, which also damaged port infrastructure.
Russian experts estimate the contaminated water area to be about 10k square meters, and oil containment booms have been deployed, with six ships participating in cleanup efforts.
The Tuapuxie River also leaked oil due to the attack but has been brought under control.
Additionally, the department stated that in the early hours of the 20th, Ukrainian drone attacks on the port caused a fire, and 246 personnel and 73 pieces of equipment have been deployed to extinguish it.
