A CCTV reporter has learned that on March 21 local time, rescue personnel discovered another victim’s body at the scene of the fire at a South Korean automobile parts factory in Daejeon. The death toll from this fire has now risen to 11. Around 1:17 p.m. local time on the 20th, a fire broke out at an auto parts company in Daejeon’s Daedeok District. Firefighters extinguished the blaze by midnight that day and immediately sent rescue personnel inside the burning building to search for the 14 missing persons. After the fire, due to severe structural damage and the risk of collapse, internal rescue efforts were temporarily limited. As of now, this fire has caused 11 deaths, 3 missing persons, and injured 69 others. The Daejeon Police Department in South Korea stated on the 21st that a special team will be formed to handle this fire incident. In addition to identifying the victims and providing support to the injured, police will also conduct a joint investigation with relevant agencies to determine the cause of the fire as soon as possible.
