Just went through the whole SASSA details update process and honestly it's a bit of a mission depending on which grant you're on. If you're getting a permanent grant like old age or disability, you basically have to go to the office in person—can't do it online. You'll need your ID, proof of your new bank account (stamped statement not older than three months works), and they'll give you a form to fill out. The bank verification takes up to 21 working days, so if you want the change to kick in next month, you gotta submit before the 15th. I learned that the hard way. For the SRD R370 grant though, it's way different—everything's online through the SASSA portal, which is actually pretty straightforward. You enter your ID, they send you a link via SMS, and you update your bank details from there. Takes a few days to weeks for verification but at least you don't have to leave your house. Changing your cellphone number is important too because that's how they send you the verification links and payment notifications. Same deal—permanent grants need an office visit, but SRD has an online contact portal where you can update it yourself. Just make sure you're using the official SASSA website and not some dodgy fake site. The helpline is 0800 60 10 11 if you get stuck. Anyone else had to fix their SASSA details recently? The whole process could definitely be smoother.
