US Media: One Reason Trump Extended Ceasefire is to Await Response from Iran's Supreme Leader
On April 22, AXIOS reported that a regional source familiar with mediation efforts and an Israeli source aware of the discussions revealed that one reason Trump extended the ceasefire is that mediators from the U.S. and Pakistan have been waiting for Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mujtaba to respond to the latest proposal and provide clear instructions to the negotiating representatives. The Israeli source stated that Mujtaba is expected to give a response on Wednesday local time.
