Japanese citizens say that the government's lifting of weapons export bans is frightening

On April 21, after the Japanese government formally amended the “Three Principles on the Transfer of Defense Equipment” to allow the export of offensive weapons, people gathered in the streets of Tokyo to protest against the government of Sanae Takaichi for lifting the ban on arms exports and trampling on the peace Constitution. Some rally participants said that no one wants the government to export offensive weapons, and that this move makes people feel afraid. Others said that Takaichi’s government lifting the ban on arms exports shows that the Constitution, built on reflection on past wars, is being trampled, and that the Japanese government has not truly learned lessons from history.
