I just heard that Jack Mallers' Strike has just been granted a BitLicense and MTL in New York, which is quite a major step forward. The license was issued to Zap Solutions in February, and now residents of New York can buy and sell Bitcoin, set up recurring purchases, or even transfer their salaries directly into Bitcoin on this platform. The best part is that users can also pay bills with their Bitcoin balance and withdraw to self-custody wallets.
Jack Mallers considers this an important milestone for Strike to expand Bitcoin-based financial services in one of the largest markets in the world. However, the BitLicense only allows operations in New York; if they want to serve the entire U.S., they still need to apply for additional licenses in each state. Overall, this is a sensible move for Strike to gradually expand.
Have you used Strike yet?
