Trump nominates new candidate for Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers

BlockBeats News, April 22—On April 21, U.S. President Trump nominated Christopher Furlong to serve as Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, to fill the vacancy left after former Chairman Stephen Mian took up the post of a member of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board in 2025. This nomination has been submitted to the U.S. Senate for approval.

Furlong graduated from Duke University and the University of Chicago in the U.S., holds a Ph.D. in Economics, previously served as a senior economist at the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, and is now a professor of economics at the University of Minnesota, with professional specialties in macroeconomic theory, incentive mechanisms, and inequality game theory.
