Ministry of Commerce: The EU's "Cybersecurity Law" Draft Amendment Violates WTO Basic Principles
On April 17th, the Ministry of Commerce officially submitted comments to the European Commission regarding the draft revision of the EU Cybersecurity Law, expressing China’s serious concerns and formal position. China believes that the draft, under the guise of cybersecurity and supply chain security, introduces highly subjective and arbitrary “non-technical risk” factors, especially in designating “cybersecurity concern countries” and “high-risk suppliers” lists, and in excluding countries and suppliers in 18 industries such as energy, transportation, and ICT from the entire supply chain, effectively removing them from the EU-related supply chain. This is a typical politicization and securitization of trade issues. (Ministry of Commerce)
