Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Support the development of forward-looking research on space computing power technology

The State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the industrial and information development in the first quarter of 2026. Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Zhang Yunming, stated that next, the MIIT will guide the orderly construction of computing infrastructure based on demand, promote the coordinated layout of green electricity and computing power, advance automated monitoring of computing power with full coverage, improve China’s computing platform, facilitate precise matching of computing supply and demand, and enhance the utilization efficiency of computing resources. At the same time, it will deeply implement the “Strengthening Computing Power Foundation” initiative, promote the implementation and transformation of achievements, and empower innovation, improve the standard system for computing power, support forward-looking research on space computing technology, and orderly promote the development of the space computing industry.
