European Parliament Member: Europe must stop being a vassal of American imperialism
On April 2nd local time, Belgian Member of the European Parliament Mark Botenga stated in an interview: “If Europe wants to become a credible actor, we need to get rid of this blind following of the United States, kowtowing to the U.S., and becoming a little follower of American imperialism.” He said that the EU’s submissive attitude towards Washington has harmed Europe’s interests, affecting everything from energy prices to the EU’s position in the Global South.
