Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 3 (Reporter Cao Jiayue). He Lifeng, Vice Premier of the State Council and the Chinese lead for the China-Canada Economic and Financial Strategic Dialogue, met in Beijing on the afternoon of the 3rd with Canada’s Minister of Finance and the Canadian co-lead for the dialogue, Shang Pengfei.

He Lifeng said that both sides should jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen cooperation in areas including economic and trade and finance, and promote the stable and healthy development of China-Canada economic relations.

Shang Pengfei said that the Canadian side attaches great importance to its relationship with China and is willing to work with the Chinese side to promote economic and financial cooperation in order to achieve more practical results.

Both sides agreed to hold the Economic and Financial Strategic Dialogue in the second half of this year.

He Lifeng and Shang Pengfei also jointly met with representatives of the China-Canada Financial Working Group and the Financial Institutions Roundtable, welcoming financial institutions from both sides to carry out business in each other’s markets. (End)
