Argentina announces the expulsion of Iran's chargé d'affaires
Argentina’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 2nd in a statement that the chargé d’affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Argentina, Mohsen Sudanini Tehrani, is persona non grata and has been asked to leave the country within 48 hours. The Argentine Foreign Ministry stated that this move is a response to Iran’s statement on April 1. On March 31, the Argentine government designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran as a “terrorist organization.” Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Argentina’s decision on April 1, calling it “illegal and unfounded,” and said it would damage bilateral relations.
