I've been interested in P2P trading platforms for cryptocurrencies for a long time, and here's what I've noticed – they really differ from regular exchanges. On centralized services, you just click a button and you're done, but on P2P platforms, you need to negotiate directly with the counterparty, send the payment, and wait for confirmation. It sounds more complicated, but in return, you can sell crypto for rubles and other fiat currencies that regular exchanges don't support.
What's important is that good P2P platforms have escrow. This means that the seller's crypto is frozen until they confirm they've received your money. So, it's harder to cheat each other. Of course, there are scammers, but if you choose sellers with a good reputation, reviews, and merchant status, the risk is minimal.
Usually, there are no transaction fees on P2P platforms – this is one of the main advantages. The downsides are that verification is required, although some platforms allow anonymous trading, there are fewer cryptocurrencies available than on centralized exchanges, and the speed depends on the payment systems.
If you're a beginner, the main thing is not to rush, check the seller's profile, communicate only through the platform's chat, and don't send money until you're sure everything is legitimate. P2P platforms are a real way to convert crypto into fiat, you just need to be careful.
