I just saw the winning numbers for Mega Millions on Tuesday, February 17, and I was surprised by the jackpot. They were playing with US$395 million in the pot, not bad at all. The winning numbers were 3, 37, 44, 52, 63, and the gold ball 14.
What caught my attention is that for the next drawing, the jackpot had already risen to US$416 million. It seems more and more people are trying to guess these winning numbers. Basically, you need to choose five numbers between 1 and 70, plus the Mega Ball from 1 to 25. If you manage to match all six, you win everything.
By the way, I saw that there are states where you don't pay state taxes if you win, like Florida, Texas, and Wyoming. But there are others where they take quite a bit, New York takes 10.8%.
