I’ve tried various glasses-style speakers, but honestly, which one you choose makes a pretty big difference in sound quality and day-to-day usability. Lately, there have been more and more types of audio glasses that are trending, so it’s actually surprisingly hard to find recommended products. I tested a few last month, so I’ll share my real impressions.

After all, whether the sound leakage is low is pretty important—especially for people who use them on trains, you should be careful. HUAWEI’s new model has a thick, powerful low-end bass, but the sound leakage to the surroundings is at a pretty noticeable level. On the other hand, the OWNDAYS collaboration version lets vocals come through clearly, so it seems like a good fit for people who prioritize vocal clarity. There are also cheaper models around 3,000 yen, so they might be good for beginners who want to try audio glasses for the first time.

Ease of operation also varies by manufacturer, and using touch controls versus button controls feels completely different. If you plan to use them outdoors, models with adjustable tint lenses are recommended, and if you want to use them during sports, you should check their dustproof and waterproof performance. In the end, how you choose changes depending on the scene you’ll use them in. The important thing is to find a recommended product that matches how you’ll actually use it.
