A person with a terminal illness calls a hitman: “Kill me—how much?”

The hitman says: “500,000.”
He says: “That’s too expensive. Can’t I just die myself?”
The hitman says: “If you die yourself, the insurance won’t pay. If I kill you, it counts as an accident, and I pay 3,000,000. You give me 500,000, and your family gets 2,500,000.”
He says: “How do you know I bought insurance?”
The hitman says: “Because your insurance was sold to you by me.”
