In March 2026, the CEO of the United States Apple Inc., Tim Cook, kicked off his first trip to China of the year. After concluding his Sichuan itinerary on the 19th, Cook arrived in Beijing. On the afternoon of the 20th, Cook made an appearance at the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. During the visit, Cook reiterated Apple’s importance to the Chinese market, saying that it will further increase investment in China. That day happened to be the spring equinox, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Chairman Ren Hongbin met with Cook in the form of a Chinese-style afternoon tea. Earlier that day, Cook stated that: “The importance of the China market to Apple is self-evident, and the supply chain is equally crucial in it. ‘We are very grateful for the various measures the Chinese government has introduced to boost consumption, and we are also pleased to be able to take part in them and share development opportunities.’ In recent years, Cook has frequently visited China, and the closeness of his relationship with the Chinese market is evident. It is reported that Cook will next attend the 2026 Annual Meeting of the China Development Forum to be held in Beijing. ( Xinhua News Agency )
