A French cryptocurrency professional was robbed at gunpoint during an attempted home invasion; the suspect has been arrested by the police.

Mars Finance News reports that, according to DL News, a 40-year-old professional in the cryptocurrency industry was the target of an attempted armed robbery at home near Saint-Jean-de-Védas, near Montpellier, France.

The suspect disguised himself as a delivery person to get inside, then demanded that the victim hand over the private key to their crypto wallet. The victim took advantage of the suspect’s moment of distraction to tackle him and seize the gun. Gunshots were heard at the scene, but no one was injured.

The suspect then fled, and after a 3-day manhunt, the police arrested him. The local court has charged him with attempted armed robbery, and prosecutors said he may have been acting under the direction of a mastermind behind the scenes.
