Has Lufthansa started to take action? Rising airline fuel costs are really impacting their management this much. According to the recent announcement, their subsidiary CityLine will suspend operations of 27 old aircraft and apparently end the business altogether within this year. The impact of strikes is also adding to the situation, so it’s probably an unavoidable decision to reduce losses. Since this decision is made amid increasing pressure from airline fuel costs across Europe, other airlines might be forced to take similar actions. These turning points in such an era are quite interesting.
