Mosaic to idle two Brazil sites, cutting 1M tonnes of phosphate

Mosaic (NYSE: MOS) announced it will idle and demobilize its Araxá Mining and Chemical Complex and related mining activities at Patrocínio, Brazil, leading to workforce reductions and a reduction of approximately 1 million tonnes in annual phosphate output. The company plans to pursue a sale of the Araxá assets while continuing Niobium development at Patrocínio. This strategic move is expected to result in a pre-tax book impact of $350-$400 million in Q1 2026, including a significant impairment, but also projected annual declines in capital and operating expenses post-transaction.
