Tangem Launches Global Rollout of Tangem Pay for Direct USDC Spending - Crypto Economy

Tangem announced the launch of Tangem Pay, its retail payment service that allows users to spend USDC directly from their self-custody wallets at any merchant that accepts Visa.

The feature, available today in the United States, Latin America and selected Asia-Pacific countries, uses virtual Visa cards that can be integrated with Apple Pay and Google Pay. The launch followed an early access phase that began in November, open to users who had signed up on a waitlist.


All transactions settle on the Polygon network, chosen for its speed, predictable fees and capacity to handle high transaction volumes. For now, Polygon covers gas costs for users during the initial period, and Tangem charges no fees of its own. To operate the service, users must convert their funds to USDC before making any transaction.

At this stage, the service only offers virtual cards, but the company plans to launch physical cards later this year. Marcos Nunes, CEO of the firm, noted that “over time, supported assets and settlement options will expand.”
