Over the past couple of days, I reviewed a DAO proposal. On the surface, it’s written as “optimizing incentives,” but on closer inspection it’s really about changing who can submit proposals, who can fast-track voting, and who can receive subsidies… Plainly put, it’s the power structure shifting gears. The more beautifully the incentives are worded, the more I want to first look at the token distribution and the delegation address. A few big players band together, and voting becomes just like a formality.
In the group, people are also circulating talk about stablecoin regulation and reserve audits, and some are calling for de-pegging. Once emotions start running hot, everyone is more likely to overlook those small-font details in the proposal. Anyway, I’ve gotten into the habit of first taking screenshots of the key addresses and the voting results—no rush, just take it slow—and not let the words “governance” pressure me into agreeing.
