This week's copper cable operating rate decreased, and it may continue to decline next week.
This week’s SMM copper cable enterprise operating rate is 69.95%, down 0.81 percentage points from the previous week and down 11.11 percentage points year-on-year. The overall operating performance remains stable this week, with copper prices maintaining high-level fluctuations, intensifying downstream companies’ wait-and-see sentiment, and new order intake being weak. Companies still rely on sufficient order reserves on hand to support stable production. In terms of sectors, the power sector is the core support, with good order performance in new energy vehicles and optical fiber sectors, while engineering and construction orders remain less optimistic. It is expected that next week, the copper cable operating rate will decrease by 0.67 percentage points week-on-week to 69.29%, and decrease by 15.58 percentage points year-on-year.
