On March 20th, Nissan announced a senior management restructuring in China. Liu Xinyu, former senior advisor to Nissan China General Manager, will serve as Nissan China General Manager, reporting directly to the Nissan Global Executive Committee member and China President, Ma Zhixin, President of Dongfeng Motor Corporation. The appointment will take effect officially on April 1, 2026. After more than 20 years, Nissan China will have its first Chinese national as General Manager. Official data shows that Nissan China’s sales once reached 1.56M units in 2018, but since 2019, the company’s sales have declined for seven consecutive years. In 2025, Nissan China’s sales were 653k units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.26%. (Yicai)
