Iran’s Chief Justice: The U.S.’s actions against Iranian commercial ships in the Oman Sea constitute “war crimes”
On the 21st by local time, Iran’s Chief Justice Ejei said that the United States’ actions against Iranian commercial vessels in the Oman Sea constitute “war crimes,” and stated that Iran “will definitely respond” to these actions. Ejei pointed out that the U.S.’s alleged “maritime blockade” of Iranian ports and coastlines, as well as the “aggressive conduct” toward Iranian commercial vessels in the Oman Sea, violate the ceasefire agreement and are “classic examples of war crimes.” In addition, he said that the possibility of the U.S. resuming attacks is “not small,” and that Iran must maintain 100% readiness for combat. Earlier that day, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement condemning the U.S. military attack on the 19th and urged the United States to immediately release the detained ships and personnel onboard.
