U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reports that a 19-year-old immigrant died while in custody.
On March 20 local time, ICE stated that a 19-year-old Mexican immigrant died in a detention facility in Florida early on the 16th.
He became the youngest person to die in custody since the start of Trump’s second term immigration crackdown.
This is at least the 13th death this year occurring during ICE detention.
In 2025, the total number of deaths during ICE detention exceeded 30, reaching a 20-year high.
