Just now, I looked into IBC / cross-chain and felt a bit scared again... I almost jumped into a new asset "coming through a bridge" before, honestly, I was just excited about the minting process at the time and didn't think through the trust chain properly. Who do you trust in a cross-chain? It's not just the source chain / target chain, but also trusting the relayers to transmit messages without messing up, ensuring the light client / verification logic is bug-free, making sure the contract permissions on the bridge side aren't too centralized, plus a bunch of parameters that can be upgraded and who gets to decide. What's more annoying is I also checked the labels on on-chain data tools, only to find they are ridiculously outdated, almost fooled by the seemingly dispersed holdings distribution. Anyway, this time I was saved by my perfectionism: I was tangled up, procrastinated, and ultimately didn't make a move... For now, I really need to look more carefully at cross-chain before confirming.
