So XChat actually dropped on the 17th - Elon Musk's been working on this Western WeChat thing for like 4 years now since he grabbed Twitter back in 2022. The app's got end-to-end encryption, no ads, no tracking which honestly sounds pretty solid compared to everything else out there. Pretty wild that it took almost a year of testing after the internal beta started in 2023 just to get it to launch. You gotta respect the patience I guess, or maybe it just shows how complicated building something like this actually is. Curious if people will actually switch over or if it's just another messaging app that'll fade out.
