Looping over 15,000 times! "Ning Wang" energy storage sodium battery debuts, Battery ETF Huaxia helps seize the growth dividends of the energy storage industry
Ask AI · How can sodium batteries with 15,000 cycles of lifespan reshape the energy storage economy?
As of 15:00 on April 3, 2026, the CSI Battery Theme Index (931719) fell by 2.59%. In terms of component stocks, there were mixed gains and losses, with Sunvision Electronics leading the rise by 2.02%, Nanjing Tech up 1.66%, and Enjie Co., Ltd. up 0.50%; On the downside, Neng Electric led a decline of 6.79%, Hema fell 6.27%, and Penghui Energy fell 5.59%. The Battery ETF Huaxia (512460) declined by 2.44%, with the latest quote at 0.92 yuan.
On the news front, at the 14th International Energy Storage Summit, CATL first showcased its sodium-ion energy storage battery, which has a cycle life of over 15,000 cycles, covering large-scale energy storage scenarios from 2 to 8 hours and AIDC energy storage scenes. Commercialization is expected within this year. Sodium batteries have advantages such as low cost and good low-temperature performance, and leading companies are adopting a collaborative layout of lithium and sodium.
Century Securities stated that recently, energy storage cells and systems have seen some price increases. Last week, the average price of 314Ah energy storage cells rose to 0.36 yuan/Wh, with the highest quote reaching 0.39 yuan/Wh, approaching the 0.4 yuan/Wh threshold. Due to upstream price transmission, downstream integrated system prices have also increased. Overall, upstream raw material costs provide strong support for prices; in the context of strong demand certainty for energy storage, ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz will elevate shipping risks, directly increasing costs for ocean transportation of lithium ore, basic chemicals, and auxiliary materials. Rising energy costs in chemical production will also cascade through the industry chain, ultimately reflected in the prices of upstream raw materials such as cathode materials and electrolytes. Looking ahead, energy storage, as a key means to regulate volatility and enhance absorption capacity, has broad demand prospects. With the resumption of work and production in March, the energy storage industry chain is expected to ramp up production, entering a peak season of rising volume and prices. The industry and related investment targets remain optimistic.
Regarding net capital inflows, the Battery ETF Huaxia has experienced continuous net inflows over the past four days, with a maximum single-day inflow of 10.7729 million yuan, totaling 26.1758 million yuan in “fund attraction,” with an average daily net inflow of 6.544 million yuan.
The Battery ETF Huaxia closely tracks the CSI Battery Theme Index, which selects listed companies involved in power batteries, energy storage batteries, consumer electronics batteries, and related upstream and downstream industries as index samples, reflecting the overall performance of battery-themed listed companies.
Data shows that as of March 31, 2026, the top ten weights in the CSI Battery Theme Index (931719) are CATL, Sungrow Power Supply, Sanhua Intelligent Controls, EVE Energy, Tianci Materials, Lead Intelligent, Deye Co., Ltd., GEM, Enjie Co., Ltd., and Guoxuan High-tech, with the top ten weights accounting for 49.82%.
