It seems that the meme coin “Sugee Token ($SUGEE),” which has been a hot topic in Japan’s cryptocurrency scene, has been attracting quite a lot of attention for several weeks since it was launched on a Solana-based platform. Since it appeared in early March, it’s been over a month already, but it’s interesting that it’s still popular.

The reason it’s been getting so much attention appears to be largely due to the preceding Sanae token incident. The moment when Horiemon said something like “Looks like they’re even releasing some crazy token” was widely circulated, and a meme coin that used those words directly emerged in that form. The issuer’s messaging is that “Humans messed up. So AI created it,” and they explain that the AI issued it autonomously.

The early-stage price action was also intense. Apparently, the market capitalization jumped to nearly $420k at one point. It seems that right after the launch, it expanded rapidly to around 130 times. The fact that so much money was gathered in such a short period is probably because of the ongoing buzz stemming from the Sanae incident.

However, questions remain about the reality of the issuance. Even though they claim it was completed solely by AI, there’s also information saying that the name “horie” appears in the creator field for pump.fun. So it’s not clear whether there was truly no human involvement, or whether someone was involved at some point in the issuance process. It looks like future verification will focus on what’s really going on with the supposed “Sugee Token.”
