Recently, the community has been arguing about privacy coins/mixing, and it feels like people on both sides are shouting across the same river: one side says privacy is a fundamental right, while the other says don’t send yourself into a compliance black hole. To put it plainly, ordinary users shouldn’t have overly fairy-tale expectations about "privacy": on-chain, it’s often more like a glass house—at most, pulling a curtain, not changing your identity.

My current approach is quite simple: treat privacy tools like a raincoat—block the rain, but if you go through security checks wearing it, you’ll definitely attract more attention. If you’re shuttling between fiat channels and exchanges, expect to be asked questions, and leave room for explanations about the source and destination. Don’t rely on “I haven’t done anything wrong, so I’m fine.” Narrative shifts come and go, but ultimately, it’s still about the boundaries of rules—so be it for now.
