On the 20th, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi had a phone call that day with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Darhoudn, during which he said that Iran will comprehensively assess various factors and decide on the direction of its next steps. Araghchi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s mediating role in ceasefire negotiations. He also pointed out that the United States’ continued provocations and violations of the ceasefire agreement—especially threats and actions directed at Iranian commercial ships, as well as inconsistent positions and threatening statements and remarks—are the main obstacles to advancing the diplomatic process. The statement said that Araghchi and Darhoudn emphasized that they will continue to maintain communication and consultations in order to promote regional peace and stability. ( Xinhua News Agency )
