At Sea-Air-Space 2026 HII Celebrates Manufacturing Job Creation, Expansion of U.S. Shipbuilding Industrial Base
HII, America’s largest shipbuilder, announced at Sea-Air-Space 2026 its strategy to expand the U.S. shipbuilding industrial base and meet the growing demand for Navy ships. This involves increasing distributed shipbuilding work with partner companies across 11 states, creating over 1,000 additional jobs and improving schedule performance. The company aims to outsource more than 2.5 million hours of shipbuilding work in 2026, a 30% increase from 2025, through a network of manufacturing partners like Trident Maritime Systems, Gulf Copper, and Keel.
