According to the April economic bulletin recently released by the Bank of Italy, conflicts in the Middle East have significantly worsened the global economic outlook, with rising energy prices in Italy weakening household consumption capacity, increasing business costs, and weakening global demand also putting pressure on Italian exports. Data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics show that in March, the rise in fuel prices led to a general increase of 10%–20% in the prices of fresh agricultural products in Italy, forming energy-driven inflation. Italian analysts stated that if energy prices remain high for a long time, it will further reduce the competitiveness of Italy’s manufacturing industry and even that of Europe.
