Golden Finance News reported that on April 21, sources said that Iran has informed regional mediators that it will send a negotiating team to Islamabad before Tuesday to take part in the second round of talks with the United States. Tehran has not publicly confirmed whether it will send a representative to the meeting held in Pakistan. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said at a Monday press conference that there are no plans for a second round of negotiations in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, leaving uncertainty over whether Iran will attend. Earlier, Iranian President Pezeshkian said Tehran has a deep-rooted historical distrust of the U.S. government and added that “Iranians will not surrender to force.” (The Wall Street Journal)
