You guessed the market correctly, went heavy, and tasted the tremendous rolling feeling of wealth. Once you’ve tasted this huge thrill, you no longer like the slow growth of funds that comes from holding only a light position or a normal one—you then get used to going heavy, and it’s hard to change.

At first, going heavy may give you a sweet taste, just like smoking. If we start smoking from the beginning, we wouldn’t want to smoke. If you take a few puffs at the start, you’ll feel it’s harsh and uncomfortable, and you wouldn’t want to smoke either.

Many people don’t smoke, not because they’re morally superior, but because of their throat. The moment they smoke, it makes them uncomfortable—so they don’t smoke. But once they’ve taken a few puffs and realize that smoking feels easy and can give them a mental thrill, they start thinking about smoking all the time. Gradually, they become addicted, and it’s hard to quit.
