Gate News, April 20 — It is reported that Elon Musk has been summoned by French prosecutors, requiring him to appear in Paris today for questioning regarding alleged misconduct on his social media platform X, including the distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and deepfake content. Both Musk and Linda Yaccarino, the former CEO of X, have been summoned to undergo “voluntary questioning,” and some X employees are expected to be questioned as witnesses this week. It is currently unclear whether Musk and Yaccarino will travel to Paris.

The investigation was launched in January 2025 by the cybercrime division of the Paris prosecutor’s office and was later expanded after it was found that the AI chatbot Grok, developed by Musk’s xAI and embedded in X, generated alleged materials denying the Holocaust and spreading deepfake pornography. Prosecutors also suspect that the platform’s algorithms may be biased, thereby distorting automated data processing systems.
