I’m increasingly feeling that grid/DCA is actually for people who sleep lightly... The thrill of going all-in is fun, but every time I do it, I start obsessively checking the chain, seeing large transfers or hot and cold wallets moving on exchanges, and automatically imagining “smart money is about to move,” which then makes my heart race and ruins my sleep.
Honestly, grid/DCA doesn’t necessarily make more money, but it keeps my hands tied to the mouse: knowing how to add or subtract the next position makes it less easy to be emotionally triggered by a single needle. Going all-in feels more like emotional trading—winning gets you hyped up, losing makes honest review difficult because there was no plan at the time.
My current approach is: if I really want to go all-in, I leave a small portion as a “venting outlet,” and handle the rest with rules gradually, so at least I don’t wake up terrified in the middle of the night. We’ll talk more next time.
