The European Union will implement measures to address the risk of aviation fuel shortages

Affected by the Iran conflict, Europe’s aviation industry faces a risk of aviation fuel shortages. The European Commission plans to roll out a series of measures to optimize the allocation of aviation fuel and seek alternative supplies. On the 20th, Bloomberg, citing a draft plan it obtained, reported that the EU is scheduled to announce on the 22nd—at the earliest—specific measures to address aviation fuel shortages, to be released as early as next month. The EU will issue guidance on how to flexibly apply relevant existing legal provisions to deal with situations such as airport use and flight cancellations during aviation fuel shortages. The guidance will also mention the practice of carrying extra fuel on aircraft to avoid buying fuel at the destination at a higher price. ( Xinhua News Agency )
