An interesting historical question is which countries were under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. If you look at the scope of its influence, it turns out to be just an enormous territory.

In Europe, the Turks held power especially for a long time. Turkey itself — 623 years, Bulgaria — 515, North Macedonia — 542. Greece is interesting because in different regions the time periods differed — from 370 to 520 years. Serbia was under Ottoman rule for 419 years, Montenegro — 399, Bosnia and Herzegovina — 415. Even Hungary came under control for 160-192 years, Albania — 527 years.

In the Caucasus, too, there is its own story. Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan — each with its own period. Russia in the Caucasus regions, such as Dagestan and Kabarda — 355 years under influence.

But in the Middle East, the Ottoman Empire simply dominated. Iraq — 404 years, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon — all approximately 400-402 years. Saudi Arabia (Hijaz, Неджд, Аль-Ахса) — 393 years, Kuwait — 361-375 years.

In Africa, the picture is similar. Egypt and Sudan — 365-397 years, Libya — 382, Algeria — 315, Tunisia — 307-330. Even in Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea, there was Ottoman influence for 300+ years.

When you look at all these figures together, you understand how powerful this empire was. Its influence stretched from Europe to Africa, encompassing a huge number of peoples and territories. It was one of the longest-lasting and most influential states in history.
