Just found out cucumbers are actually great for dogs and I had no idea. Been giving mine some sliced ones on hot days and apparently that's totally fine. They're super low calorie, packed with water for hydration, and vets say they're safe as long as you keep it moderate. My vet mentioned they should only be like 10% of their daily treats though, so I'm not overdoing it. The key thing is cutting them into bite-sized pieces so they don't choke, and washing them first obviously. Some dogs can't digest the seeds so I just scoop those out to be safe. It's honestly a perfect summer snack for dogs, especially if yours is on a diet. Heaps better than those high-calorie treats from the pet store. Anyone else feeding their dog cucumbers or am I late to this? Apparently there's a bunch of other fruits that are ok too like bananas and blueberries.
