Hybrid mining pool Parasite mined a Bitcoin block.
The previous block was found 48 days ago. It included 7,398 transactions, and the fees totaled 0.002 BTC. At the time of the block's discovery, the price of the first cryptocurrency was around $76 213.
Parasite uses a hybrid reward distribution model. The miner who finds the block receives one Bitcoin, while the remaining 2.125 BTC along with the fees are distributed among all participants proportionally to their contribution to the hash rate since the previous block was mined.
The pool does not charge an participation fee, and payouts are made via the Lightning Network. The project is aimed at individual miners. It was founded by a developer under the pseudonym ZK Shark, creator of the NFT collection Ordinal Maxi Biz.
Unlike traditional pools like CKpool, where the main reward goes to the miner who finds the block, Parasite combines a lottery principle with reward sharing among all participants.
According to the pool's monitoring data, its average hash rate over the past nine days was about 52 Ph/s (, approximately 0.005% of the total network hash rate at around 1 Eh/s). In June 2025, the figure peaked at 182 Ph/s.
