BTC 15-minute increase of 0.58%: Large account transfers drive combined capital outflows, resonating to push up the price
On April 20, 2026, from 06:30 to 06:45 (UTC), Bitcoin recorded a +0.58% return within 15 minutes, with a price range of 74,347.7 to 74,898.0 USDT, and an amplitude of 0.74%. Amidst still tight market liquidity, short-term volatility quickly drew attention, with on-chain activity and large fund movements becoming key focal points.
The main driver of this anomaly was large account fund inflows onto the chain under sluggish liquidity conditions. During the reporting period, the total on-chain Bitcoin transfer volume reached 732,276.86 BTC, with fund transfers mainly in the millions of dollars, while exchanges experienced a net outflow of $582 million, indicating that major funds tend to exit or manage independently, and that prices are highly sensitive to fund flow changes. The position structure also saw significant adjustments, especially large holders with 1,000–10,000 BTC reducing holdings by about 90,000 BTC over 12 days, with funds simultaneously shifting on-chain to boost short-term buying sentiment.
Additionally, the funding rate in the derivatives market turned negative before and after the anomaly. The divergence between rising spot prices and negative funding rates indicates overly bullish sentiment, raising concerns about a short-term correction. Meanwhile, both spot and derivatives trading volumes are at their lowest since November 2023, implying that even small buy orders can significantly impact prices. The combined effects of large holder structural shifts, fund outflows, high on-chain activity, and other factors further amplified this round of upward volatility.
Currently, caution is needed regarding short-term volatility risks. Key focus should be on derivatives funding rates, large on-chain transfers, exchange net outflows, and signs of spot liquidity improvement. Price sensitivity to sudden fund flows is extreme, and support and resistance zones in the short term carry high uncertainty. Please closely monitor subsequent market movements and on-chain fund dynamics to prevent potential risks from extreme fluctuations.
