Just realized I've been overpaying for checked bags for years lol. Been researching which airline has free checked bags and apparently there's actually quite a few ways to avoid those fees even in economy.
So if you're flying economy, here's what I found: Premium economy on most major carriers like American, United, and Delta gives you two free checked bags. Costs more than basic economy but honestly might be worth it when you do the math against baggage fees.
Flying internationally? Most airlines waive checked bag fees for long-haul flights, though American recently changed that for their basic economy tickets. Kinda annoying but worth checking before you book.
Or you can just get an airline credit card - Delta's one apparently lets you bring eight free checked bags if you're traveling with a group. There's annual fees though so gotta factor that in.
If you fly the same airline a lot, reaching elite status gets you free checked bags automatically. And honestly, if nothing else works, Southwest still lets everyone check two bags for free no matter what.
Anyone else just discovering which airline has free checked bags options? Feel like this could save me hundreds a year.
